In the beginning I tried re-decorating - all well and good - but I just ended up running up the credit card.
For the past six months I have been in automatic. I do what absolutely needs doing and anything and anyone outside of what is necessary just gets left.
Here's a hopeful point though: After struggling to stay in this home I have come to the decision to sell it find a smaller more manageable house in a beautiful area in the mountains.
It's not possible to do-it-all. Don't beat yourself up. Be kind to yourself.
3 months is not long at all.
you will see you will go through periods of happy and sad times, when my husband first passed ( its been 13 months ) I threw myself into my work and joined a gym , I was doing good, then after going to the gym so many times, I started to remember all our good times and I went backwards, it is gonna be toughest for you when you are alone, but I cannot say that for sure , as our own grieving is very unique, I learned this at the grief share meetings, you might wanna consider going to them ,,, they did wonders for me,
good luck my friend

When I feel like an outcast or a weirdo for feeling these things - the ones you speak of, especially - it's reassuring at least that we are typical, normal and working through it.
making progress and then the grief just knocked me flat again. I think
it is just going to be an up and down process. God bless you Julie
It is hard to work your way through grief. Grief will seem to work its way through you. For the first six months you are not as in charge of things as you would like to be. In time though grief lets you back in. Gradually you will emerge with a new understands about life and the world around you. The answer to your question is yes; your reactions are typical and normal.
