Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I believe that is because the lonesomeness accumulates as time builds up. It does not improve when you add together all the days and months and years. Indeed, God said "It is not good for man to be alone".. I don't want a M/F relationship with a new strange man, but would give one of my limbs in exchange for companionship, maybe a female friend who is single. I go to church alone and leave alone and come home alone to my wonderful dog. She is the only companion I have now. and I thank God for her but need human connectedness. We all do. This sucks. Lord bless you.
You're near a beach? I so envy you! Where I grew up, even as a young child I was able to walk to the Ocean anytime I wanted to.. It was my big, blue, wobbly comfort blanket. As an adult I used it as my soul's sanctuary. For me walking on an Ocean beach vanquishes all stress.
Now I'm essentially land-locked. I've tried to make myself believe that a Great Lake is just like the Ocean, but we all know it's just not.
I so wish I were where you are. I could use some Ocean Comfort these days. If I lived where you live I know how I'd be spending my Sundays.
Consider this,
What if you declared Sunday to be your day to walk along the shoreline, or in the woods, or anyplace that's worth walking through? Seasons and weather changes would keep the walk from becoming boring
If you think of them as Memorial Walks to honor the happy times you shared with your wife, I bet she'll be walking with you.
Take Back Sunday!
