I know that has to be so hard. I still have my husbands yellow vw, I drive it alternately with my car. Its not really any better on gas either.
I know when I used to look at it I would cry. Its just part of the family now.

The vehicle he drove was bought by my neighbours so I see it all the time.

I sold Roby's truck last summer to the guy that works with me. I see it all the time,I like knoeing it's being well taken care of.

My husband had a red chevy silverado. He took such excellent care of it. It was his baby. It was a 2000 but it was in really great shape. I had it on the market for a couple months & people were offering me $1000 less than I wanted & some guys were really pushy & telling me that I would never get what I wanted for it. But I knew that truck was going to last a long long time for someone so I didn't give in to some of those guys. So, I prayed about it & a guy came along & did a lot of tests on it & he told me how that truck was in such a great condition & he offered me $200 less than what I wanted & I took it. So don't let anyone try to offer much less than you want for it.

My sons told me to keep a truck in the drive to make it look like a man lives there so I think of him every time I see it and the dog barks thinking her dad is home. But in a way it is comforting too.

Thank you. I'm not looking forward to haggling. I'm not looking forward to it pulling away. I am looking forward to having it gone. My two sons want it for sentimental value. Mikes best friend does too. None of them have the money to purchase it. I would feel bad giving it to one and not the other two. So... Here goes.

car in the garage all winter (and I live in northeast NJ where it was brutal). Now that the weather is getting nicer by the day......I can
finally put my car in the garage! LOL

Mel...I get that. I sold my husband's SUV to his sister for half what I could have to anyone else. He always worried about her in a small car so I thought it was the right thing to do. Yesterday though I pull up at the funeral and there sits his SUV...even though I knew she had it, I was taken by surprise. It may be best for someone you don't see all the time to have it. For me it was a green truck- a Ford F250 diesel that my husband bought and paid cash for shortly before he retired. It was his dream truck which he bought to pull our camper with so we could travel after he retired.
We were able to take one trip to Florida with it before he got ill.
I sold it to the Ford dealership where we had bought it about 1 month after he died. I got what all my sons and I considered a good price.
We all decided it would be too painful to see someone else driving it. I also sold the camper myself on Craigslist.

My son in law bought my husband' s truck. It was yet another piece of him gone. It was so hard watching him pull away in it, but I didn't need it or the expense of maintaining it. He treasures it since it belonged to my husband which does help.

Got a truck that needs to go to.....a sliver Toyota Tundra....like his clothes and other things, not ready to let go yet......it will come in time.

I sold his white Chevy 2500 pick up truck within a month and a family bought the truck and our camper together. It was sold one county over and I have yet to see it.

I kept his Kia Sportage until it needed a paint job and I decided that I didn't want to maintain two vehicles. Hard to believe we usually maintained three while he was alive. I kept the Kia for almost two years after he passed.

I donated my husband's 2006 Nissan Sentra to American Lung Association. I tried to sell it and couldn't deal with people as he had just passed away in July and I was in a fog. Then I took it to Car-Max and we had problems with the vin #. I felt much relief when I was led to donate it. I got a letter with amount as tax write off. I waited until this year so I can file on it next year.

My Honey had this really great truck he bought not even a yr before he got sick. It was for the great business he was gonna have that never happened. I couldn't make the payments or get enough money for it so I had it repo'd. I didn't care. I don't drive and looking at it brought me awful thoughts of what could have been.
