Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Morey had a spinal cord stroke on March 25th and passed on April 11th. He was strong, tough, healthy and always my hero. I truly looked up to him. Although, his personality [my first hint that something was wrong] had changed and he no longer was able to concentrate and problem solve, he was still my love and my strength!
It's still very difficult. Some days I can barely focus on just getting through the day without breaking down. I still work a full time job and I don't plan on quitting, not today!
I have children and grandchildren who expect me to be strong and carry-on. When they're not around, I break apart into a zillion pieces, on the floor, that I must pick up and put back together before Monday comes and I have to show my work face!!!!
I didn't get to retire with Morey either and we didn't get to sit on the porch in our rocking chairs watching time go by.......
You, me and a lot of other folks are alone now, to carry on.
I send my love and warm hugs to you,
Roz
