I understand what you're trying to say, but actually carrying on forward with all the wonderful life lessons you learned with her is another act of love. We who are left behind are the guardians of their legacies. If my husband's life is to continue to have meaning, then I need to continue and live fully to honor everything he meant to me and the lessons learned with him.

I was only 20 when I met Cliff, and we had 30 years together. That's a lot of life lessons!

I am sorry for your loss, but I do hope that eventually you will see that there is still more for you to do besides grieving for her. It is different things for different people, but I hope you gain some peace and contentment.

I have only been grieving for 12 days, She passed away unexpectedly in her sleep at 54 on 2/25.

I am so very sorry for your loss. There are no words to express the overwhelming grief we all feel at the beginning of this new chapter in our lives. Each day you just need to focus on getting through that day, sometimes that moment. Over time you may see some days getting a little bit easier to handle. But it takes a long time. I am now at almost 3 1/2 years and occasionally I have a bad day but most days I’m ok. I still miss my husband enormously but I’m surviving. And yes, knowing they are in heaven and knowing that we will be reunited one day gives us hope. God Bless and try to take good care of yourself. You will need your strength.

I am 5 months in and when I lost my husband everything stopped. Sleep, dreams of the future, safety, comfort even my mind stopped it became dull. I was numb. Only now after 5 months has a lil of the feeling returned. But 5 months ago I could not see the forest for the trees. I still have all those feelings from 5 months ago but I also don't cry every day. I still don't see a future but I can plan next week no further. Its a start. Its not one day at a time its one moment or minute at a time. I don't know how long I will grieve. But I do see a change ever so slightly. I wish you peace and strength,
