I think we all are losing it.....not looking forward to Rudolph with Yukon Cornelius. Frank used to impersonate him....made me laugh so much. Thinking of you, Annie! You too, Diane!

A Christmas Story was my husbands favorite. I recently found out that the actual house that the movie was filmed in is in Cleveland. My cousin and her family took me to it on sat. I did okay with it. it was pretty cool to see the museum for the movie. Now as far as watching the movie that is another thing, Hugs: Donna

I know very well what your talking about. I lost my girl in May and now the oddest things will trigger those tears. I think your daugher is right and he is watching it with you. When it happens to me I suspect she is with me.
It's a very hard road we are on but now at over six months it usually takes a trigger to make those tears flow. I sincerely hope that there will always be a trigger.

Veterans Day did it for me. We never made a big deal outta that day. I would say "happy vets day" would send him and several of our friends ecards thanking them for their service and that was it. But our grandkids, with school projects would call him and interview him with questions, made posters about their "Grampy" got letters from their classmates. Would call, email,one ggirl thought he needed flowers that she had spent her own money to buy them. This year, i got phone calls, texts, facebook messages and I fell apart. Our sweet Hannah that asked me if it would be OK if she played Taps for her Grampy's service, which she did. broke down this year at the HS memorial vets day ceremony and had to leave school, she misses him so much. Another went to the Vets cemetery and placed sunflowers on his grave. They made Veterans day a big deal in our lives, and I love all 14 of them for it.

The music at my husband's service was just beautiful and I had asked the Director of Music to send me a list of all the pieces he played, in addition to the hymns (which are printed in the Order of Service).

Just reading the list sent me into a long crying jag......

Hey Ame, I lost my mind a long long time ago, it's not that bad really. Well, it wasn't that bad when I had Berna with me, now I lost my heart too, and that really really sucks. I hope the Grinch succeeds this year, poor guy's been trying to steal Christmas for like 50 years now, this would be a good year to let him get away with it.

Oh, annie...I cried too, but it was for the opposite reason. We used to watch The Grinch when the kids were little (and I loved it, too!). Then they grew up and Vern finally confessed that he didn't like it, and since we could usually find something else on, I didn't press the matter.

Here he is gone and I watched the Grinch and felt quite a twinge at the satisfaction I felt to be able to watch it. Talk about the guilt thing! Probably your Joe was watching it too, and probably Vern was telling him that he was grateful that he didn't have to watch. *sigh* Even a stupid little 'first' like this makes me cry, too. The same thing happened to me with the Grinch, so I chose not to watch the whole thing. I still cry on demand for only a minute. For me it cleanses the soul so that emotions don't build. Story of my life.

I'm a Christmas movie nut--I watch every Christmas movie from the moment they start around Thanksgiving until Christmas is over--and I cry over all of them now--happy ones, sad ones, goofy ones, doesn't seem to matter, they all make me cry. I guess it's just part of the process but jeez I get tired of having a stuffed up nose.

Zakki...I find myself doing that quite a lot. The 'ugly cry' seems to come after I've had a period of time when I don't let it out a little bit now and then. Hugs...Marilyn

Thank you all for your support on the grinch lol!! now I know i am not crazy, yet! I cry over such sill things. I am fine and going about my business and then I stop and cry....Its been six weeks now and I think it will be many many more before I can feel even slightly safe again.
