Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Bob is just a overly nice, sweet guy, that loves cutting up.
Do not be hard on yourself. This was the first experience with the opposite sex that you had since your husband died and probably the first for him since his wife. Lesson have been learnt. If you have found a new long distance friend, you have gained in the end.
Well at least you know your kissing skills are intact :)
God luck,
Bob
Mel, thank you for sharing. You kept us entertained and gave us hope! (And I did pray for your safety, as I wasn't sure what you were getting yourself in to!)
We all will get our "happily ever after" some day!
Jackie
You might want to copy this on Hopeful Hearts - Living After Loss too. It would give tthem hope too. Sharon
It's been difficult. I have no experience with having a romantic interest in somebody I met online.
My friends were supportive until they met him. They all said the same thing, " he's cute but he doesn't have the personality for you." Translation- we don't see Prince Charming. They saw him for a brief period. They also didn't take into account he is also grieving, in a new country, surrounded by mine and Mikes friends. They went as far as to tell me that I'm not ready to date. I think because they aren't ready for me to date.
He is considering a trip back soon without his son. It will help to remove the pressure of friends and family.
So, there may be a sequel????
I just keep thinking about him. Darn! Sucker punched!
Best wishes,
Russ
In full on devastation it is pretty much impossible to imagine a new life with someone else, so your generosity gave us a glimpse into the future and glimmer of hope.
I know your tale will have a happy ending with him or someone else, and you deserve it. Take good care.
