I dont know quite what to say but my heart goes out to you in the warmest way today. Im nearing my anniversary too and I dont know whether its right to say happy anniversary but I wish you well today. When my day comes I think I would want people to wish me a happy anniversary because it will still be a very special day to me, although bittersweet. Maybe just do a little something special for yourself and remember your special love.

Oh, I wish you were celebrating with your love instead of feeling so low. I've been through the anniversaries and they are definitely not good. Just let the emotions flow through your tears. Screaming in a pillow or punching the pillow is allowed. Luv to you. Sharon

I am so sorry wendimac.
Our 41st anniversary, was the day of our family viewing of him in his casket. ONLY day the funeral home had open time for it. It will ruin all anniversary memories for the rest of my life.

I wish you much peace. The first anniversary for me was total numbness because my husband passed 12 days before our 27th anniversary. Now for any remembrance (birthday, anniversary, holidays), I plant something in the yard. He loved the yard area and took great care of everything. Wish we could all send you a bouquet of flowers.

I was asleep when this was posted (time zone difference), so didn't see this yesterday. I am sorry, I know anything that could be said won't really put much of a dent in the hurt. It does get easier over time, but each year it is still painful. I try to concentrate on good memories - especially any funny ones I can recall. Those seem to help. The first wedding anniversary for me I was only 6 months into being a widow, and it was awful. I hope you got through it okay and that today is a better and brighter day for you.

I am so sorry Wendy. When my husband died, we were having some troubles. With our 30th anniversary on the horizon, I'd wanted to renew our vows. That day was very hard.
