Our oldest Granddaughter paid a tribute to her Poppa.. She got his picture tattoo on her shoulder.. She said Poppa always had her back now she has him on hers watching over her and her boys for all time.. it's in my photos not sure how to put it here but will try.. It's of the picture in my profile. The young man who did it drew it free hand from the picture she took in.. he did a wonderful job took him 6 hours

My son did the same thing on Father's Day. He said it was a gift to himself. I'm not a tattoo fan, but it really turned out beautifully. It's on his shoulder and says---always by my side. He said when he gets a tattoo in honor of me it will be on his back :-) hummmmmm, Mom always on my back-------not sure I like the sound of that!! We laugh about it and I told him I guess it's better than on his backside!

Sallie I'm not a tattoo person either.. Granddaughter loves them she doesn't have many thanks heavens..This guy did such a good job.. She didn't tell her little ones that she was getting it and when she came home she had a tube top on so it wouldn't rub on it and her 4 year old said *Mommy you have Poppa on your back*..We went shopping she was in front of me and I had him grinning at me.. I teared up..

My oldest son has a memorial tattoo also. It is on his back. It is from photo of his dad. He was down few months back (he is also a tattoo artist) among his many talents and he made one on my youngest boys arm. That tattoo is moon and stars picture with their Dad's name inside. It was taken from a necklace my hubby gave our youngest son on his birthday 4 months before he passed away. My oldest son free handed that tattoo.
