Yes! I know.....how could I not have seen this coming? We were so in tune to each other. How could this happen to us?

It's a blur....a nightmare....it's not real and yet, to get to where I am today, I had to walk through the fires of hell and grief and still it's not over. My future is so unclear to me, when it used to be so planned and so known!

How is this true?

I think we all did that......thinking it would always last.....even though down deep we knew better.

Having just read your post a news item from about a month ago popped into my head. It was about a young mother in Florida I think that died and had written her own eulogy or obituary (don't remember which) but at the end the final line was ""I was born, I blinked, and it was over"""
Yes it seems that quick doesn't it, and the things we didn't get done or should have done are left as reminders of what we took for granted.

Deep down, I just never thought my love was going to Die. He fought cancer twice & was so strong and brave during both. Because he was/is a Marine & a police officer, I just thought it wouldn't happen ...
But it did & now the long journey without him continues.

Yes, same feeling here. The news from China is that more than 400 people died from a shipwreck due to a tornado. The ship was kicked down in half minute by the wind. 30 seconds--life or death.

Tiger, I read about that disaster too. All over in a minute.
Here, it has been a bad weekend on the roads - 5 deaths including a father and 12yo daughter traveling home. So sad. Futures destroyed.

Same feeling here. The man I married chose so carefully. I knew from the start he would be an amazing father and husband. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be raising 3 daughters on my own. Thankfully during our entire marriage he always built me up. Always told me I was smarter than I gave myself credit for. I will carry his confidence in me forever.

I always thought I would pass first because my husband was extremely "health conscious." It brought me to my knees when he was diagnosed stage iv. I still have a hard time wrapping my thoughts on how could this have happened to him. I have a girlfriend who just went through the same, and another friend in stage iv. I am just trying to stay focused on the day, but I really, really miss the life I had...

this is so true. We kept living in the moment because it was a good life... Now it feels like a void. Patti

Yep. A couple of weeks ago I was having dinner with a couple I've been friends with for as long as Capri and I were together. They were picking at each other because they were both tired, grumpy and a little selfish. Most, if not all of us have been there. On the way home after, I found myself angry but not sure at what. Then I thought about them, squandering a moment they could never get back. Then I thought about the times I did the very same thing. Ouch.
