I want to find a support group but am having a hard time. I am seeing a counselor and that seems to be helpful. I went today to a bereavement workshop, I was the only one that showed up, the organizer and I spent an hour talking and she said to come again next week and we'll hope for others to join. I have contacted hospitals, hospices, etc but I can't find any that start April. I want to talk to others who are experiencing the same thing as me. I can't find anyone in my same spot to talk to. Any suggestions, are there people on DS that live near me that would like to start a group? I don't know if it's ok to give my number or email on this site.

Hospice also offers counseling and sometimes have group meetings.

What part of the USA do you live? Maybe someone here is close to you.

I live near Doylestown, PA that would be the closest "big" town near me about 25miles north of Philadelphia.

You can try Meet-up groups. Just do an online search on this. Enter Meetup and widows. I'm in several of the meetup groups, though none for bereavement. I prefer to stay on this group and remain anonymous.

I went to a grief share group and found it VERY helpful... It would be worth the trip to Philadelphia if you had to make it.

I love my support group. Contacting the social worker at local hospitals is one way of finding a group. I have been very lucky. My group is a true support group. We exchange phone numbes and meet outside the group one or twice a week.

I would NOT suggest you post your phone number here. Your general location, maybe, but your number and real identifing info, not so much.
