Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
You will eventually know what it will take to help you through the weekend.
I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Love and Hugs, Dolores
Thank all, I just wanted to share this with those that know the pain and hurt I'm feeling.

After he died, there was no one to watch the movie with and the kids arguments were sharp and irritating instead of amusing. I had to change the whole routine of our Sundays to change the feeling of the day. It took me a long time to get to the point where I was willing to structure things without him. I guess I was trying to hold on to him, but I found that when I did things that Rick had never been a part of, it seemed to help the tension in my home and even in my heart.
I hope you will soon find your way to navigate the times that had been special to you and your husband. I am praying that for you.
We all find different ways of coping. Usually a very different routine is what is called for. I found anytime I tried to just do what "we" had always done that it just highlighted Cliff's absence. For example, sitting at the dinner table. We always sat 2 and 2 on opposite sides, each with a son next to us. My sons and I tried that and none of us could eat. We just stared at "Dad's chair." Then one evening I moved to the end of the table instead, with a son at each hand, and then we were fine. Sometimes small changes make a big difference.
I hope you find what helps you on your Sundays.
Love and Hugs,
Martha
The road to recovery isn't even paved. Sunday was never my favorite day of the week with church then having to prepare for work on Monday. but suddenly I realized Just how much love and compassion was shared between me and my beautiful wife on Sundays... I only feel a BIG void and Sunday is by far the worst day of the week for me too. Last Sunday However wasn't as bad. I stayed extremity busy...busy enough to wear down and numb my feelings so that I did not have time to morn. I want to mourn on my own terms,,,and if mourning on Sundays is the worst, I want to do everything I can to mourn on any other day BUT Sunday. God Bless You, I will keep you in my prayers.....On Sunday none the less.= NVCOWBOY
Sundays .....the weekends in general are incredibly difficult. That was always our special time. The weekends are very empty.
