I'm finding very hard to plan that far ahead, but trying to do so. As my wife and I camped/fished for at least 30 summers, I would like to honour that tradition. I'm thinking of finding a place to park our 5th Wheel by the beach on the west coast of Vancouver Island for the summer. Our small boat that we bought together could get me out fishing/cruizing. The ocean can be wild in that area, but you only live once. Does anyone have plans for the summer, or similarly finding it difficult to plan that far ahead.

I figure if your going to feel like crap anyway, why not feel like crap on the beach in a beautiful location Who knows, it may help bring you out of your funk even if for only moments each day, or some days.

Yep! In May I am getting on a plane and going to Springfield where my sister lives. Then she and her husband and I are taking a road trip to the OKC area for the birth of my new grandson. Also hoping to visit various family members and friends and meet my new daughter-in-law. THEN perhaps I can decide if I want to move back there. By then I hope to have most of "my necessary things to do" done.

Rick, That seems like a great idea!! I say go for it. You're approaching a good place when you start to plan. Hold on to those thoughts. Getting out there fishing/cruising will make for a good get-a-way. Summer will be here before you know it. Get the equipment ready. Your wife will be right there with you in your mind and heart.

Rick, sounds like fun. If I still had iur 5th wheel I'd go but we sold it before ge passed away. I am going to Az maybe March. We lived there 32 years and 5 years after losing my husband I moved back to Mn to family.
When I'm there I am going to look at a trailer or 5th wheel and possibly move back for a while or at least winter and early spring. Some of our best times were at the Colorado River campgrounds with our 5th wheel.

I’ve been thinking about this summer and I’m actually feeling fearful. Charlie and I loved to take motorcycle trips, fishing trips, and attend summer concerts together. And it’s just not going to be the same, I cannot see me doing any of it without him. We had planned to buy an RV but then cancer had another plan-gggrrrrr!
Rick your summer plan sounds amazing and I agree feeling like crap is always better on the beach in a beautiful location. Enjoy!
