I am not sure but I think this might help. I notified all three credit bureaus of my husband's death so his credit is closed.

I don't know any way to do that unless you called each individual company and that is no guarantee and could take a lot of time. After three years, I still have catalogs and mail that comes to my husband. At first it bothered me, but now I just toss it.

You could always give a change of address.
The other choice is when the mail comes write "return to Sender"....
otherwise I wold ask at the post office.

Came across this article on the Oprah site. Haven't tried it myself. I ended up moving twice and eventually his mail stopped coming.

Oh I get the same. Just dump the stuff in the recycling bin. I scream my head off when people use my cell to try to sell their stuff too. I make a point of NEVER buying anything that is brought to my attention that way. Don't sweat the small stuff. You have enough to cope with.

I worked for the Postal Service. Unfortunately there is no way you can ever stop ALL the mail in his name from being delivered. But if you fill out a change of address form, making sure it is for an individual, not the family, and in the 'new address' field put deceased that will help. If you ever talk to your mail carrier, explain to him or her that it is hurtful to keep getting the junk mail in your husband's name and they should be able to intercept most of it and not deliver it to you.

I still get stuff from my MOTHER IN LAW who died in 1994. After her death, we had her mail forwarded to us for a while. We have moved four times since then, never including her as part of our family. Still get stuff from time to time....

I spoke to my mail carrier, and she just sends back books, etc. stating that they were refused. Doesn't even deliver them anymore. I have notified everyone at least once. But one list generates another and another an so on. What unnecessary waste of our resources. Seems to be no stopping the rape of our forests for the paper....

I went through this myself. There is no shortcut, I had to call every single subscription of my husband and cancel one by one. And some of them, I had to keep calling because they would just keep sending. You might just have to do that.
