Since my partner's untimely passing last May, I met another man, but in our intimate adventures, I found I am very much still in love in my deceased partner. And I feel the right thing for me to do is to continue that relationship for quite a while.
Whenever I am with anyone else, I feel intense resentment and that things have changed much too fast and he expects me to love him and I feel he gets tired of me talking about my deceased partner.
I feel like I am stuck. It is much too soon for me to move on (although I would like the intimacy), and I don't want to shortchange anyone else and make them dislike me for holding on to the deceased. What a horrible predicament.
Any thoughts concerning this?

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

However, if your new partner is expecting you to love them and has no patience for you when you talk about your deceased partner, I would seriously consider having a long talk with that partner. Let them know your concerns and let them voice theirs. Keep in mind, nobody can or should try and make you do anything that you are not able and ready to do, so if you are still so much in love with your deceased partner and want to talk about them, then talk about them. If your new partner can't handle or respect that, then it is better to find out the type of person they are now and tell them to hit the road, because they don't care about your feelings at all.
As for your resentment towards things having changed...this is normal. You envisioned a 'life' with your partner...one that has ended much much to soon, and your new partner's attitude is also fuelling much of that resentment.
In the end, only you can decide when the time is right for you to 'move on' and it is to nobody's benefit that you rush the grieving process.
I think, too, you will need to find someone that realizes that you are not just one person, but a package deal...You and the love you have for your deceased partner. If they can accept that, then I think you will find the intimacy in a new relationship is much more natural and relaxed and will be minus the resentment you now feel.

Just like you Alfy, I don't think I will be getting partnered anytime soon. I think I need at least a year to heal from my trauma.
It is the worst feeling in the world to know that you had the RIGHT man, now he is gone. By looking for someone new, it is like trying to recreate what you had, albeit on a subconscious level.
I know I will never find another Tom (huge sigh), but it is possible to discover someone new in the future.
After all, I was in a former relationship for 14 years before Tom stole my heart.
Best approach is I guess to tell the other person and take it slow. I did actually discuss this with my friend I was getting close and they said they didn't have a problem with that. However, I did have a problem with it and stopped.
I wish you luck.
The man I am dating exclusively understands the my late husband will always be a part of my heart and history (my boyfriend even sat with me as I ordered the inscription on his Head Stone!)
For in my marriage I learned how to love a man & love myself. These traits will definately benefit anyone I marry in the future.
It takes a certain level of maturity that not all men posses. The right guy will come along...
