Yesterday was bittersweet for me my Son was married to a beautiful woman and I have a new Daughter in my family, but with my Wife now gone from us for three months it was a very tough day on myself and my two children.
My Wife Jilanne was so looking forward too seeing him take another step in his life but unfortunately it wasn't meant to be, as I watched my son make a speech about his Mother and then dance with his sister I was overcome with emotion. As the night went on and I watched my family and friends dancing with each other I became sad because again my Wife was not there with me.
Sad for myself but happy for everyone else because I would not wish the loss of a spouse on anyone, I have two Aunts and Uncles that are married 55 and 54 years and God Bless them as they are still very happy and in love with each other. I have my oldest uncle who lost his wife about ten years ago and now he met a women and they are going to get married, not bad for 80 years old.
I pray that my son and his wife can be as happy as my wife and I were together and I'm going to try even though I know I have a heavy heart and alot of tears left in me that one day I will be happy again.
All of us here owe it to ourselves and our lost loves to try and make it happen one day in our future. I don't know if it will ever happen for me but I know I need to give it a go.
There is a Elton John song called Skyline Pigeon and I believe the lyrics in the song are something all of us can relate too. My friends try and listen to the song and maybe one day we all can Spread Our Wings.
Take care of yourselves and God Bless Us All

You and your family are lucky to have each other.
Congratulation on your new daughter too. May they know the love you and your wife enjoyed!
Hugs and strength to you!

I know it had to be tough. Your son also knows how hard it was for you to participate without your wife physically there. I say physically because she was spiritually.
I'm with you with trying to someday find happiness again. My wife always told me that if she went home first for me to carry on. Easier said than done. She lost her mother in 2003 and never recovered from it. But she did not want me to live alone without anyone. I just always thought like everyone else that we would be so old that if one went it wouldn't be long before the other was right behind.
Take care my friend.
Peace, Tim
