This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
As to your bridesmaids dresses, for the time, they probably were very stylish. And I'm sure they were very happy to wear them and help you and your husband celebrate your big day.
Hugs,
Alice
Our 40th will be coming up in July and I have no idea the shape I will be in that day.....we were married in the evening and had such a great time at our wedding.....I can still see him with that big smile as I walked down that isle and my Daddy kissing my cheek as he gave me away. Maybe someday I can think of that wonderful day with smiles instead of the tears that are streaming down my face right now.
Big hugs to you.......
Jen
How we remember every little detail of our wedding!!
I was married in a Montreal, Canada. A winter wedding, there was a huge snow blizzard, but everybody still showed up. The style then for men was kind of a frilled front shirt, Ben looked so handsome. Yes Liz you have brought it all back for me,
Ben and I would have been married 43 years on our next anniversary.
Just like you and your precious husband. Thank God for those memories....they are all we have left.
Dear Liz I hope you have a sweet, sweet day tomorrow and even if you cry a little .....that, too, is good.
Thinking of you,
Love...Sandra

Last night a friend of mine gave me a copy of something he received after his wife passed. It came from a advice column, Annie's Mailbox, from a man named Norbert Tackman. In the letter he wrote...There is nothing wrong with crying. It's part of loss. It's part of the grief. Accept the aching need to hold him and tell him you love him. But always remember to say, "What a good life we had."
He knew you loved him and cared about him. Just as you know he loved and cared about you. Remember, he is watching over you. He doesn't want you to suffer. He wants you to be happy for all the time you had together. God bless you.
Smart man that Norbert. :) With that, I smile and say, "Happy 43rd anniversary to my beloved husband, Felix.
