Quite a few posts ago, someone asked if others ever felt that they had signs from their loved ones. I know I do! Knowing this, a friend of mine sent me the following poem about signs ... and it has certainly eased my mind. I hope it can do the same for others here.
"As I sit in heaven,
And watch you every day,
I try to let you know with signs,
I never went away.
I hear you when you're laughing,
And watch you when you sleep.
I even place my arms around you
To calm you as you weep.
I see you wish the days away
Begging to have me home.
Then I try to send you signs
So you know you're not alone.
Don't feel guilty that you have
Life that was denied to me.
Heaven is truly beautiful;
Just you wait and see.
So live your life, laugh again,
Enjoy yourself, be free.
Then I know with every breath you take,
You'll be taking one for me."

If I do not return, my dear Sarah, never forget how much I loved you, nor that when my last breath escapes me on the battlefield, it will whisper your name. Forgive my many faults, and the many pains I have caused you; how thoughtless, how foolish I have sometimes been. But, oh Sarah, if the dead can come back to this earth and flit unseen around those they love, I shall always be with you in the brightest day and the darkest night. Always. Always. And when the soft breeze fans your cheek, it shall be my breath. Or the cool air, your throbbing temple, it shall be my spirit passing by. Sarah, do not mourn me dead. Think I am gone, and wait for me. For we shall meet again.
