My husband passed away in May 2014, he was 22 years old and so was I. I was almost 6 months pregnant when he died. I had my daughter on September 4th and I applied for survivor benefits on the 22nd. My question is do we each get separate benefits or only my daughter? my husband had 4 other children, I know they will get the same amount as my daughter but do I get the same amount as them? Sorry if I offend anyone the social security office only told me to wait for a letter they not much help. I already receive the amount of 255. Thanks in advance

Regarding your question about social security.......You can go on their
website www.socialsecurity.gov and see what you're benefits are. (I
think you'll have to register his social security number to see what his
benefits are for surviving spouse and dependents.) I just read mine and it reads "you have earned enough credits for your family to receive survivor benefits" Then it lists
Your Child
Your spouse who is caring for your child
Your spouse who reaches full retirement age
