This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Today I'm counting my "thankfuls". I have so much to be thankful for. I miss my sweet husband so painfully, but I am so grateful for the gifts he gave me.. 1. He gave me his love and devotion. 2. He he gave me his respect. 3. He gave me self confidence. 4. He gave me our family. 5. He gave me courage and demonstrated that courage every day. 6. He gave me the world and we traveled the continent together. 7. Maybe most importantly he taught me, through example, , how to live with loss. I will forever love him and he took part of my heart with him but because he was, I can still live fully.

I spent a good part of the day with close family. It was a loving and relaxed setting. (Decision. .. I will strive to keep myself in a similar setting and attitude.) When I returned home my young grandhildren decided to have a sleepover at grammas house. What a lovely ending to the day. Tomorrow we are going to bake cookies and watch a movie together. And then I will be ready for some quiet alone time. Still wish the love of my life was here to share it all with me, but I know he would want and expect me to appreciate and enjoy every gift life has to offer.
Good night dear people. You are my lifeline to sanity and have helped me find (sometimes) serenity.
