Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
You are very early in your grieving and it seems you have a lot to handle.
Please remember to take care of yourself, it's sometimes hard to remember in the first months.
Unfortunately this is a nightmare we will never wake up from.
I to relive those first moments, but trust me it will get easier.
Hugs, Sandi
Don't even try to look for your new normal yet. Based on my experience and that of others, I believe you will find that you will be going through a rollercoaster of emotions over the next few months. You are still reeling from the fact that this happened and have many struggles ahead as you learn to deal with your life going forward. At a few months past my husband's death I feel like most of the help I give here consists of me saying - "yeah I feel like that too". The folks who have been around longer offer us solace that things will become less consistently painful as time goes by.
I hope you get as much comfort from this diverse and caring group of people as I have.
No one has the answers for you, no one. I wish you clearer days ahead and less fog to guide you through those days. Don't forget to eat and sleep......that's all that should be expected of you.
Good luck with the children and helping to guide them through their fog too!
My thoughts are with you ,

I hated when people told me " in time" it will get easier. It's been 21 months and it HAS gotten easier.
I think I will always have sad moments, crying times that I miss him so.
But life moves on and it's so short. It's a gift that we have to use and appreciate. We don't know when it will end.
I don't want to waste years crying and being sad. He wouldn't want that either.
So, I'm doing my best to live as best as I can and enjoy family, friends and make a difference in this life.
