Has anyone ever experienced ringing in their ears ? I had my teeth cleaned last week & they did ultrasonic cleaning & I was happy with
the results, but 2days later I started have ringing in my ears. I have tried
everything to no avail. Went back to the dentist this morning and
they want me to wait 3 more days or I will have to go to an Ear doctor.
I'm so afraid it my be tinnitus, which Larry had for years & it can
drive you crazy with the ringing, but he said with all his ailments and
pain he could tune it out most of the time.... Right now I can't.
I have tried over counter & look on the internet & hoping that
maybe it's a infection instead...
If anyone has can you give me any advise.... Not what I need after
losing my love !!

Do not wish ringing in your ears on anyone.......ugh
The way I learned to deal with it was to accept it as normal. It took a while, but eventually I did. The problem with the ringing is that it is abnormal. People think it may be something serious. It rarely is and for some it will just go away, but there is no cure.

There are several other factors that can create the likelihood of tinnitus. Some can be ruled out with a blood test. Beyond what the cause could be, there are a number of things that will aggravate tinnitus. If your late husband had it, you may know already what some of those things are. For myself, any NSAID painkillers - ibuprofen, aspirin, naproxen - will aggravate it. Unfortunately, chocolate and red wine seem to as well. Diphenhydramine - the decongestant used in Benedryl and in sleep meds like Nytol - also boosts the volume on mine.
You should see a doctor and get a proper exam, as well as a blood test.
I never worked in a typically noisy industry (like construction or manufacturing), didn't go to a lot of rock concerts, never had any ear infections, so it has been hard determining what caused mine. The most likely culprit was a trans-Atlantic flight a few years ago that was extra noisy and which I was not offered any ear plugs for protection. Now, I never fly without ear protection, even though the damage has been done.
Some tinnitus is linked with hormonal changes, low thyroid, magnesium deficiencies, TMJ, recurring sinus and ear infections, and a host of other possibilities. For your sake, I hope yours is temporary and clears up. Mine has been awful. I have special hearing aids for it, but that is not ideal. I hope you will be okay and it goes away. If it doesn't, please contact your doctor and get the proper exams and tests that may be required.

I can't get into an ENR until 29dec, however I went to our local
clinic & the doctor looked in my ears & no wax buildup but there
was infection & my blood pressure was rather high. So he
prescribed antibiotics & steroids for 10days. Fingers crossed
that it works.... I will update..
