Over the years we would listen to some music...driving & such but not big listeners. But now that my love is gone, it seems like the songs I hear have so much more of a meaning....

That was the song we each independently chose for the first dance at our wedding!

I had forgotten about how it was used in that last scene from
"Ghost." Very powerful song, and so much more poignant now that my husband is gone. I had forgotten about this- thank you for sharing.

Since my husband died 18 months ago, music on the radio can either comfort me or make me cry. Some mornings on the way to work I will hear a song that seems like he is sending me a message that he is thinking of me. Other times I can hear a song that just breaks my heart. As JoAnn said, it seems like I really listen to the lyrics more and yes they do have more meaning now. They are good memories of a 40 year marriage. Hugs to all!

I more remember the melody because I saw the movie ,Unchained, when it came out in 1955. It was about a guy who was sent prison for heroin possession. As I recall the melody was played a lot throughout the movie. I may be wrong but I don't recall if, at the time, there were any lyrics(in the movie). Regardless over all the years the melody itself has always stuck with and more so when it was independently recorded and came out as a song.

I know I have always loved this song. I liked listening to the Rightous Brothers long before "Ghost" came out. In fact when my son and his wife dedicated it to my husband and I at their wedding I didn't even think of the movie. Just the beautiful words. They still ring true. It's still hard to even listen to the radio unless it's a talk show. So afraid something will make me cry. I miss him so much! Hugs to all, Michele

One of my favorite songs.

Just listened to this on what would have been our 48th wedding anniversary. Oh my....the emotions and memories. I asked him to put in a word for me, to whoever is in charge, that it might not be too long before I can join him. Let's hope....this is just so very hard.
