Just wanted to send out a Memorial Day "Hello" to all my friends here on DS.
Marylou's father saw action on the ground in WWII, Europe/Africa, mechanized infantry, 3rd Army...we believe he may have been in on the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp, still researching that.
I never had the honor of meeting that man...he transitioned to the Spirit Realm in 1978, and Marylou and I did not meet till 1983.
Somehow, I achieved the honor of being married to his daughter, who did alot of volunteer work with veterans in the span of her medical career.
Last June, Marylou joined her father to await The Reunion...over the weekend, I will ride Stillwater88 the 173 miles to Logan, Ohio, to place a flag on the grave of Paul Richard Lehman, U.S.Army, American Fighting Man and my Father-In-Law, in honor of Memorial Day and in memory of Marylou...who never missed the trip on Memorial Day.
I just want to thank all of my friends here at DS for remembering that Memorial Day is more than a cookout and a baseball game...it is all those American traditions to be sure...but it is also the time for us to remember the ones who didn't make it back to America in the service of their country.
They went to the home that Our Lord and Savior has prepared for us all, to await The Reunion that all will attend.
We thank them for their sacrifice to protect and defend our rights as Americans...to remember our Beloved with the highest honor, as we all do.
It is my honor to share that with you...thank you.

I had members of my family over the years in various wars. A couple of cousins in Viet Nam. Doesn't make it easier no matter how they left us.
