This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Last night I was having a down moment, missing my husband and feeling sorry for myself. I am off on a very long trip tonight, half way round the globe really, to spend a few weeks with my daughter and her family and I was perusing about all the things I had to do before I depart. One time, we always shared all the tasks and now, of course, I have to get on with them on my own, hence my moment of self-pity. I am better this morning because I had a good talk to myself, concentrating only on the positive sides of things.
I wish you a rapid recovery.
Somehow, I managed to get to the rental car place, get a rental, deal with the insurance company, and all the rest of the mess that goes with these things. I would never have thought I could have done any of that.
Somebody here once said that "strong is what you are when you don't have any other choice." I suppose that's part of it. I didn't have the luxury of falling apart and having someone else pick up the pieces.
I am sorry about your tooth - lucky you that managed to go this long without having one pulled! I loathe going to the dentist, and my dentist is a sweetheart! Does anybody really like going to the dentist?? I doubt it. Instead of wine, maybe try a warm spiced apple cider - very soothing and relaxing. Just a thought.... Hope you heal quickly.
Love and Hugs,

Best to you,
