really bad time of the year.

i lost my wife on april 12 2010,oct 17 we would have been married 19 years,also oct is her youngest daughter's birthday.nov.5 was my birthday,iturned 48 we were together for 24 years half my life she was there to wish me a happy birthday then thanksgiving.dec.20was her birthday she would have been 46.how x-mas is coming up then on the 27 is when we started dating 24 years ago.having a hard time finding something to be happy about.

Aren't these first just the worst thing to have to go through. We count the days since their death, the hours, weeks months and find ourselves sad in anticipation of the "special" occasions. It is hard to find joy in anything with our hearts so heavy in sadness. Slowly it becomes easier to cope with and the sadness eases into bitter sweet memories. Grief will wash over us still and take us down but the recovery time lessens. One day we will be able to just smile again...

I'm so sorry for your loss and understand your pain. The holidays and special occasions are especially hard. Slowly the pain begins to ease and becomes more tolerable with time. You are in my prayers for peace and comfort. We are here for you. Take care, Sandra

I'm so very sorry for your loss and the devastating pain. This is not a time when you can find joy or something to be happy about. You have to grieve, and grieving is hard work, perhaps the hardest work you'll ever do. But in time you will find meaning and purpose in your life again.

Hang in there and know that your friends at DS understand.

Hang in there I'm right there with you as far as time goes My wife died on the 9 th of April. This holiday brings up so many memories Try to look at the beautiful belated Christmas gift you recieved 24 years ago on the 27th and all the wounderful days you had together. Joy will come for both of us again until then be strong friend , Dave

I am trying to stay in the moment with people who love me and knew and loved Jim. Yes, it is a sad time. My husband passed away suddenly on August 11th. With friends, family, a few tears, some smiles (and perhaps a few glasses of eggnog) we will get through this time and the many more to come.

Even though I really do not want to go I am going to drive 55 miles to my daughters/grandkids for Christmas eve dinner, opening presents.
I am doing it for my Grandkids mostly. Christmas day will drive 44 miles to my Moms have lunch with her, and get home by 3/4 pm to feed horses, dogs and cats. Than I plan on sitting down, watch some tv or reading a book JUST being quiet.
Its 4:58 my time and this day is over, another day gone. yeah
