Well, this Sunday will be exactly one year since I lost my husband. I had thought I was able to cope and was getting stronger. This long holiday weekend, though, is unexpectedly throwing me for a loop again. I feel like I'm backsliding into unbearable pain and grief again. I thought, hey, I can handle it now, but have found the thought of this weekend is terrifying for me. I don't know if I can handle it. When will this heartache ever end?
Try your best to remember the good times. Don't dwell on the bad memories. That gets you no where. Believe it or not, the sun will shine again and you will find your way. Stay strong sweet lady and know that he's always with you!

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I am just over 9 months since my wife passed. Along with
holidays, her birthday, etc., I am truly dreading the one year
mark on 28 August. It is so sensitive to me that I cannot bear
to look at 8:28 a.m. or 8:28 p.m. on a clock. I can only
imagine what you are going through with this unwanted /
unexpected milestone.
You are truly in my thoughts and prayers over the long
weekend.

This year of firsts will be over for me August 18th. Then I will start year two. I'm told by some it's worse. I hope to God it's isn't. Like Darcie said it isn't anything any of us will get over but someday learn how to live with it. Either way it still helps to know there are others going thru the same. But at the same time I wish they didn't have to.
