It has been one year today that my husband passed away from pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed the beginning of May 2013. For the month of August he was on hospice care; a hospital bed in our living room and I slept on the couch in that room. He was in terrible pain and not himself anymore. It was almost a relief when it was over.
I am doing better today than I thought I would be. Sometimes I think the dread of it is worse than the actual day.
My youngest son lives 3 hrs. away in Rochester, NY and he came and visited me this weekend. I think that helped too because I always consider it a treat to see him.

I just passed the 1 year mark and I totally agree that the weeks leading up to it was harder then the accual day.
