I look at this as a step forward. Seems you were meant to be at this Demo Derby to hear this music. Focus on the strength that this brings to you!! I am sure your husband was smiling and sharing this moment with you. God Bless Susan.

You go Sandi you did a brave thing....a difficult brave thing relish in that. You had a moment, and rightfully so but you kicked griefs butt a little so you feel accomplished. Listen to him in your head encouraging you in his voice and smile. You are so great.

Sandi, let the tears flow. How special it was that Tim's favorite sings were playing. We loved our husbands and our hearts were broken. I have also turned to potato chips at times for comfort. i think it must be the salt we are craving because of all the tears we shed.

I had a similar experience listening to a band play in the plaza by my office - Cliff loved live music, and I thought how much he would have enjoyed it and how awful it was he was not there, and started to tear up. But then it came to me that he had the best seat in the house - in fact, he could go hear whoever play wherever now,and could jam with his favorites who had passed on (if heaven could have harps, surely it could have electric guitars, too, right??). And I laughed and felt so much better.

I know most of Lynard Skynard were lost years ago in that plane crash - I used to live in Jacksonville where they were from. Maybe they were all trying to tell you that they were okay and having a good time and you should, too. Just a thought.....

And oh yeah, potato ANYTHING sounds good sometimes! :) Maybe it's like Rainbow says, something to do with all those salty tears. We've all done that I think!

Sandi - Thank you! I was having one of those so-so mornings - not teary, not happy, just sort of "here." Then I read your follow-up about eating the potato chips and I couldn't help but break out in a big smile! I'm pretty sure that turned my day around - thank you!!!!

Sometimes I'm driving my husband's car & a song will come on that brings on some tears. Maybe someday it will bring on a smile but till then we just cope.

Cindy, I would have eaten the whole bag, but there was only half left. They were Old Dutch Dill Pickle flavor that I had brought back from MN.

You just never know when or what is going to hit you. I was with a group at a church festival having a great time when they played a slow song and it hit me. I was alone and lonely and missed my wife so much. It just seems to never end. How do you move forward?
