My husband was an eternal optimist. He was so full of life. He was always smiling and laughing. Before him I had a very negative view of myself. Then he came into my life and I suddenly felt like if someone as amazing as he was could love ME than there must be something pretty awesome about me. Now that he's gone all the self doubt has been returning. And I worry about how I'm supposed to give the children the lives that their dad so wanted for them.
And this statement just reminded me that I can't go backwards. I can't go back to that person with all the self-doubt. He would be so sad to see me go back to that person.
So I have to keep pushing forward. Even thought it's hard and even though I don't know how I'm going to do this alone. I won't dishonor him by giving up.
There is great strength in what you say ...not letting ourselves be destroyed...its so easily done...I find myself emotionally stretched...from one extreme thought to the other at times...but one thing is always there..and thats the LOVE,, that I have within me...the Love is what will heal eventually...
Peace and contentment to you BandiBlue..
