This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
An update:
I thought it was time to give you an update on the Ohio Autumn DS Gathering, aka the Ohio Hoedown, in case you would like to join us. I think there are a few rooms that remain in the block of rooms designated for our group (see information below).

The details have been worked out for the Ohio Autumn DS Gathering. I hope you will consider joining us. It will be a day to connect and put a face with a nameat last!!! As I've mentioned before, the other get-togethers have been great fun and uplifting. I think it surprised all of us how quickly we bonded. Conversations ranged from lighthearted and fun loving to camaraderie between determined survivors. What a special group of people the DSers arekindhearted, supportive, and compassionate.
OHIO GATHERING
WHEN:
November 12-14. The main day being Saturday, November 13, 11:30 a.m.
WHERE:
The Gathering will be held at my house (address to be given by private message), hoping that all of you can stay for a bonfire in the evening. Remember those S'mores!!!!
LODGING:
Hampton Inn, 11484 Allen Road, Jeffersonville, OH 43128 (1-71 Exit 65 @ Route 35) (740-948-9499), $80.10, not including tax. This includes a hot Continental Breakfast.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
To receive the special price, there is a Code to mention when making your reservations. Please contact me by private message, and I will be glad to give you that Code. If we are not yet friends, please make a friend request so that I can give you additional information privately. Also, it would be helpful if you could bring a lawn chair for the bonfire. I have extras, if you don't have one to bring.

Thanks, me too. You, Tom, and Janine were the Master Organizers for the Philly BBQ. I was hooked after that. If it's within a doable driving distance for me (I don't fly!), I'll give it a shot. TJ
The nearest airport is Dayton International Airport which is an easy 45 minutes from my house (maybe a little less), almost all 4-lane highway until the last 3 miles. Does it sound like a plan? TJ
I went to the doctor Tuesday and have to be off work for another month. So, except for the fact that finances are just getting tighter, it would be more feasible for me to go to the Alabama gathering. Perhaps sometime there will be one even closer to me. Maybe Denver of Salt Lake City.
I'm sorry you can't make it. I was sure looking forward to meeting you. I hope you will be feeling better soon and back on track. Maybe someone out in your neck of the woods will have a Gathering; wouldn't that be fun? If you're ever in the mood to take a trip down my way, let me know. TJ
