off topic, name of plant

"Does anyone know the name of the plant on my profile picture? I believe this heart shape plant part is a seed pod of some plant. I found this in Hawaii and asked my husband to take a picture of it since I can't bring it home.

it's an unfortuante name. But as it's the common name you can make up a more appropriate common name for it yourself.

ok, I was a bit bummed about the name of the plant given it's romantic importance. I've gone and found another legitimate common name which is much better, it's "Java Olive".

I think I like "Java Olive" better - it sounds more like having coffee together on a sunlit tropical balcony or something - much better for a sweet memory!

I agree the Java Olive is a much better name. I just loved the perfect heart shape found in nature. It reminded me of a good time there with my husband. I don't remember which island the botanical garden is at. Afterwards we went to walk around the gift shop and found patches of plants varieties for educational purposes surrounding the building. One particular patch was sugar canes. We went to the gift shop lady and asked about the canes. She told us to talk to the worker in the garden and they will let us have a stalk. We did that, the gentleman cut down a long stalk of cane for us. We took it back to the hotel and ate the juicy cane. Very fond memories of our trip to Hawaii.

    I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort.     Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner.  I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings.  But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
