We are here too. I had a good time this morning tryin to catch my dog...the big ole boy broke his leash(heavy tie out) and was just happily running a round like a kid with out their diaper!

Thank God for our pets.

I'm a little more than 6 months into my grief and I'm really struggling right now. I, too, thank God for carrying me. I'm also grateful for the many recommendations given to me by friends here on DS ... from specific prayers to books to support groups. The heartbreaking pain would have been unbearable had it not been for all the support I have received.

I have had many days just like your's today. Nothing feels right. Everyone else seems to have that special person in their life. They have what we lost. Through no fault of our own, we suffer.On those days, I try to remember that Sharry is more alive than I am, and loves me, and that God loves us more than we can imagine. Thanks for the video, so beautiful. I do cry out. Lost my Mom when I was in my early 30's, to this day I feel pain when I see women my age with their Mothers. Just did not seem fair. Now I feel the same with my husband when I see couples my age, just not fair. But I guess life isn't fair, one thing for sure I am learning to lean on God.

I've loved the poem/song ~~ Footprints, for a long time. Even more so now. There were times in the first year after my husband's death that I wasn't so sure Jesus was with me, but, more often than not, I knew in my heart that HE was there. Looking back, I see how often HE carried me that year and the following years also.

I have a little plaque with this and it is most comforting. I would also like to share something that I found in my late husband's manual of prayers.

When I first picked up this book after my husband's death, the book opened to this page. I have read this many, many times and it has given me comfort. I hope that by sharing it does the same for others.
