Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I lost my partner of 11 years, 8 mos ago. I still struggle every day. Everything I do, see, hear or touch has a memory for me. I have her 2 teenage sons to continue bringing up so that does keep me occupied.
People keep telling me the pain will subside I just can't see that right now.
Your grief is still new and raw. Talking with close friends will help some. The alone times are difficult. Once you get through the initial pain and disbelief, the ache will slowly start to recede. For me, I just wanted to curl up in a ball and withdraw. That just makes it worse.
Expressing your thoughts on a place like this is sometimes easier than talking to friends. I didn't want to keep burdening them. Loosing a husband/wife/partner or lover can best be understood only be people who have walked in your shoes.
I wish you peace.
