I'm so sorry. My husband died 4 1/2 months ago and I literally just burst into tears over a little thing and could barely breath. But it's easier. Those moments are fewer and the physical pain not as bad. Four weeks was hell. Gentle hugs to you.

I lost my husband Neil 7 months ago and I still look at his picture and can't believe he really is gone. We were together for 35 years married for 32.I couldn't have children so it was always just the two of us , And I can't get over this how do I live my life without him ,he was my life? When he died I thought so much about ending my life just wanted to be with him again .How do you go on it's the hardest thing I have ever done. Everyday is a struggle . And I don't have anyone to talk to I have family but I guess they think I should be over it by now So glad I have this place to talk about it.

So sorry...you will have emotions that are all over the place...You lost part of yourself when you lost your husband...Your children are grieving too.. and you probably try not to let them see you breaking down..Have you and the children went for grief counseling?...I lost my husband a year ago...and it's hard to process for all of us...For months I kept thinking it's a bad dream and it's not true....we don't want to accept it...but we can only fool ourselves for awhile...Please keep sharing your grief..and feelings...Everyone here understands..and cares.....hugs

We have all started therapy but I’m not sure how to be there for the kids when I’m having a hard time dealing with this myself. I’m glad I found somewhere I can share where people understand the pain.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Grief is such a hard journey. Many emotions, many days of just plain rough everything. I totally understand your statement when you say you don't know how to be there for your kids when you don't understand it yourself. The therapist will help. For me therapy was not an option and my children were a bit older. Reluctantly I let them see me upset and told them it was ok to express their feelings any way they wanted. I encouraged talking, crying, drawing, whatever they felt. I felt very useless as a parent for a while. That was part of the journey. You will find a way trust me you will. Hugs to you

My husband and I had been together since High School. We had six kids when Rick died, ranging from 18 down to a few months old. I know I wasn't much help to them. I was a basket case. My teenagers refused therapy. I went to a local pastor (not my own) for grief counseling. We all survived though. I think what helped me most initially was the love and prayers of good friends. Please don't feel like you are a burden to your friends. You would be there for them if things were reversed, I am sure.

I lost my husband 16 months ago because multiple myelomas

He was diagnosed and gone in less than a month.....

We had been married 53 years and have two children, four grands and one great grand. My son is still in denial. My daughter is trying to milk the situation by taking my home. I have a good lawyer and the wills are all
in order. We live on 5 acres and I want to give her half. But she wants me
out and her in the house. Children surprise you in gosh darned ways, don't they!

My Deepest Sympathy. This is probably the hardest road you will ever travel. You will meet new friends who will open their hearts and try to make your load easier. Most people are kind. In the beginning it is so overwhelming. Take one day at a time. Slowly you will start to feel better and there will be good days.

Your emotions will be all over the place, you can’t help it! Almost 3 months for me and I still have days where I’m so sad I can’t get off the couch. But I will say that I’m having more good than bad, thankfully. I still miss him every minute of the day, but I have to go on and that’s not easy without him. Hang in there! Hugs

Yes at four weeks I was a mess too. My Brenda has been gone for 3 months and some days I am still overwhelmed. We were married for 43 years so she was my life! It will start to get easier to get up every day though my problem was going to bed at night. I talk to her, tell her how I feel, and listen. My prayer for you is that you experience what I have when the time is right.
