Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I know that this is so hard and it will be for a long time. My heart goes out to you and the deep pain you carry in your heart having lost a loved one, your love, your partner. Please do come back and share and read. We all have similar and different stories. I lost my love 6 months ago. He just got out of hospital for what should have been a simple procedure like so many he had been for and 4 days later he was gone. I feel robbed that we had battled illness together for over 12 years to have lost it now was painful. I am thinking of you during this time and wishing you light and love. The pain never goes away but apparently it softens.
Warm thoughts and well wishes

I'm going to leave you this link (below). It's helpful and contains onsite informative tips from DS admin on how to best use community support groups.
Dittos to you for all the support ahead of me. I truly am sad to welcome you as a new member, Daniel. And many have already shared so many of their stories, and I wish there was some way to narrow down the process of your reading so much material. And it's good material because so many of us share our thoughts and emotions. I've learned so much by reading here.
Your wife is only away for a short time, and she will be back to take up where she left off; I'm so sure of this. And you still have those treasured memories that interest you, so please focus on the details of those occasions for comfort. Start a daily journal, write down or take small notes on whatever comes to mind. Let most important events happen again in slow motion in your mind. Stop the action of writing when your feelings and thoughts are at their height, and take at that moment a conversation with your wife's calm spirit. I do this often and my husband speaks to me. I'd like to share with you the stories, however, much is of highly sensitive and emotional content. I do enjoy the times though.
When my husband passed, I, too, thought it was a done deal and I never would see or speak with him again. Not so. He's still on duty. And as puzzling as it all seems, your dear wife is not a myth now; she is very much alive in the spirit.
Bless you, Daniel.
