Hi I’m new here. I lost my husband a year ago. However he was sick for three years prior, so I have actually been grieving him longer. I have gone through much therapy and finally now beginning to feel whole again. I can see the light at the end of this long dark tunnel I was in. I am feeling much stronger and decided to join a dating site for seniors. This online thing for me is new and I was a little scared at first, but I figured what the heck it can’t hurt to try. I have already met and corresponded with a few interesting men on the site and one in particular I am drawn to. We are talking about meeting up shortly. Obviously we will meet in a public place for safety. I am a little nervous about this meeting in person as I have not done this in quite a few years. Anyone else out there have any tips or advice?
I'm sorry to have to welcome you to this group, considering the circumstances...yet it's really a good idea to compare your own situation with those others experiencing such as you have with plans to restart a new relationship. I've not imagined that for myself though. However, I hope for you to find what you want in life, reach for it, and I hope for you to obtain the best! You deserve it. But stay thoughtful. I have experienced the fast-movers out there. Many have wanted to show me what they can do. The younger ones are looking for a mature image of a well-seasoned lady, and, then, the older ones are passing through so much loneliness, and looking for a friend, not marriage. And I will never marry again. The virtue of my marriage with my deceased is way too thought provoking for that idea.
Stay focused on you. Be cautious. Remember the adage that "Out of the abundance of the heart of man the mouth speaketh." I guess this could be that the man who inspires good thoughts and feelings in you is a possible reason to hook-up. You have my best hopes. Much love to you today!
