I'm new to the website and this group. Its been a rough few months for me. My husband of ten years passed away on June 9th. If I never see the inside of another hospital, I'll be fine with that.
My previous husband passed away suddenly in 2000, so at 54 I'm a double-widow.
How do you get over the feeling that everything is over for you? I feel like I'm totally overwhelmed with grief and despair and I'm having a hard time getting thru daily life without crying or feeling like I could throw up.
No kids to worry about, just three dogs that are my closest support group. I attempt to work so I can feel like I'm getting back to normal, but am often overwhelmed by the feeling that life and happiness is over for me.
I do have a few close friends and family, but don't tell them the truth about how totally down I am. Telling them I'm fine is much easier.
Hoping that if I can communicate it somehow, it will make things a little easier. Reality bites right now, so asking for some help.

You have made a wise choice in coming to this site gardenheartz. There are many wise and caring people here who have helped numerous people through this journey none of us wanted to be on. On here you can feel completely free to express whatever feelings you have at the moment. Whether they be anger, sorrow, panic, etc. I don't have any real answers for you because I am still having some of the hopelessness also, but as I said there are many wise people here who can. My heart hurts for you with grieving for the second time. I know how hard this journey is with losing my husband and to repeat that journey is horrible. As far as getting through this nightmare, it's like you know, one day or one moment at a time, taking care of your needs, and letting the emotions flow. I wish you moments of peace and hope you find comfort here with others who are traveling with you. Sharon

welcome and I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my Danny in May with absolutely no notice. We also had no kids and the house seems so empty and quiet that I find I have the tv on all the time, just for the noise. We never watched tv. I went back to work a few weeks ago and it does help. This group is amazing to express what we are all truly feeling. Out friends and family are great but they want to get back to their lives and I agree, telling them "i am fine" has become my standard answer. Stay strong as we go through this first year. I am so sorry for your losses. I am only at a little over 7.5 months after the loss of my wife of 25 years. I think you have come up to a good place here, you will find a lot of support ; I've done the "im fine" thing as well ; i think we all have.

go ahead and get it all out up here, we all understand your pain

I am glad you found this place. You no doubt know grief from your first loss. And now again. I am so sorry. I think people who have not experienced it first hand just have not been educated and have no real clues to feelings we have so we tend to say we are doing fine.

This support group understands so you can vent, say whatever is on your mind or how you feel. We are all here for you. Hugs
