We lost ours in July....it is a whirlwind. The days are hard...nights the hardest. The kids are grieving differently and it was hard to help them heal while my own heart is broken. They have picked me up so many times. There are days when things feel a little ok and then the world comes crashing down. Memories everywhere and pain all the time....
However, we are the lucky ones because we have children. Find strength for your children and them. It is what keeps me going on. I am here and pulling myself together for them. I also find solace in knowing he is waiting for me.

I’m sorry for your loss. You need to give yourself and your kids time to process the sudden change and grieve the loss of loved ones. Expect there will be pain/memories coming back and forth for a while as you move forward with your lives as well as your kids. Be there for your kids as they may need your support more than ever and shoulder to cry on. They should feel safe and believe their needs will be met even though their father is no longer there with them. Stay strong if not for yourself, at least for your kids but if you feel you need some time to process this alone, reach out to your family member for help. Maybe they can help watch over them for few days every now and then while you take some time out to get your strength back. Just don’t drift far from your kid’s life as they may feel abandoned. Sometime, going through the loss/pain together and sharing the emotion/feelings can help build stronger bond with one another. Don’t expect you will get over this in short time so you will eventually have to deal with this as you and your kids continue to move forward with your/their lives. Right now it’s full of pain and confusion but as time passes and you go through other events (deal with other situation, other life challenges) this too will become distant memories like rough, sharp rock in the sea becoming smooth and round over time by wave. You need time to adjust to new life (life without your husband), break the habit/pattern you have been carrying as you were living with your husband. Everyone dies so appreciate that you met and had chance to live and make many memories together while alive.
