So I have a 14 year old son who plays travel baseball and he is really good. I was able to take the summer off(I had surgery on May) and I didn't go back to work until September. I lost my Mark in June. Long story short my son is going to his first baseball tournament with out his mom or dad. I have to work every Saturday and the tournament is 2+hours away. One of his coaches is amazing and has offered to take him and let him stay with them. I am very thankful to them for their help, but I am very angry that my son has to go without his parents. We had a plan and now there is no we. I hope this makes sense to someone, I only know what I feel and I really wish I could control my feelings, but I guess we all wish that.
Thanks for the place to vent.

Protecting our children is instinctive and of course you want life to be different for him. Or rather, not different, but the same as it was.
As hard as it is for me to accept how my life has changed, it's much worse when I think about how different it is for my granddaughter who lives with me. She's lived with us since she was 4, and my husband's life revolved around her, and our dog. I was solidly in third place.
She's had to give up karate and swim lessons and endless adventures because I work every week end.
It's very upsetting.
I'm so glad your son's coach is able to help. I'm sorry you can't be there yourself. Take good care.

I understand the "we" had a plan. That's all I thought about last night. Our plan was to have moved into the first house that we would own together. The house that was totally "us". No more renting. Now I need to figure out "me".
