Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Oh how I know what you are experiencing, and all too well. The best is to find a way to act as your own grief coach, and that's not to mean that you won't have the love and support of group members here. It means that you have to take personal action, stay active, and find room within this support site to master your own healing. And I hope for you to gaze around and find the answers for which you search. I will leave you a link to information that may better help you understand how to use DS. (below)

I sympathize with your heartache and I hope for your peace and love.
I'm so very sorry for your loss.
The suddenness of it makes it so unbelievably difficult.
I lost my husband in Oct 2019 after a battle with cancer.
More recently, this past Oct.,we lost my son in law to a tragic accident. My daughter is a 30 yr old widow.
So I understand the pain and utter disbelief of sudden loss.
As others here stated, what you're feeling is normal. You have to grieve. Take it slowly, minute by minute. Baby steps.
Give yourself time to ride the waves of emotion.
Reach out here on the site. The good people here understand. We're all a part of the same club.
You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
Hugs,
Tess
Mornings are the worst. I described it as the movie 50 first dates. If you have seen that movie you will understand the analogy, every morning when you open your eyes the whole thing has to play in your mind and then you have to tell yourself "yes it is real".
I lost my husband November 5th. The mornings have gotten better for me. I wish I could give you the best damned advice and make it all better but no-one can. I did reach out for counseling and it is helping. I highly recommend it.
Allow yourself to cry, scream, be silent, laugh, just feel the emotions you are and don't be afraid to stick up for yourself if you need privacy and alone time. Still to this day I prefer to be alone in my home with my pets and that has never been me. I have had to ask for people to respect my wishes.
My heart goes out to you. It is not going to be easy but reaching out to this group is the right step. There are some amazingly supportive members here.
Hugs to you.
Wishing you light and peace
