Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Don't worry about the tears, let them come when they come. People will either understand or not. Even after almost 2 years since my wife passed I still tear up when someone mentions her.sometimes. It's not as often as the first year. I can actually talk to someone about her now and even smile at remembering the good times.
Take care and talk to us often, we are here for you.

I don't want all the attention but I don't want to be ignored either. I want my feelings and others feelings to be organic, to come from the heart and the gut, if you know what I mean.
I lost my Morey 16 months ago and it feels like yesterday. He had a spinal cord stroke. And, my strong hero became jello. I had known him since I was 18 years old. he was my world.
I belong to no one now. I'm not special to anyone anymore. I'm alone in a sea of couples! I know exactly how you feel!
I'm sorry.
Roz
It's so true that others can't understand our feelings and many are so uncomfortable with our loss they want to fix us and pretend that everything is okay. Simply said, it's not. We can feel sad, angry, and truly lost and that's the way we need to work through and you don't have to isolate. Seek out those who can help you and, for now, just let the others slide.
It really depends on your personality how you address their uncomfortable feelings. Just know that the problem is not yours. You have enough to deal with. Sharon
My husband and I were married for 34 years. My husband was also a gentleman and a gentle man. I am lost without him.
You've come to the right place. The people here are so kind and so understanding, so you can be comfortable sharing your feelings.
I hope you have a peaceful day.
