So sorry for your loss , I lost my husband four months ago. It's true you do need someone to turn to in the same position , just even if you read their remarks as we are all in the same place , and it does help .

A sad welcome to you. I'm happy that you found us but deeply sorry for the circumstances that brought you here.
I'm also new to this group. It's been 3 weeks since my loss and the support I've been given here has helped me get through my worst moments including an especially big one this morning. We're all here for ourselves as well as for each other. Sharing does make the most difficult times a bit easier.
P.S. Check in on the Saturday Music Party tonight. A post will appear later today. Thanks to raininseattle it's a way to begin to know us individually and requires no active participation.

Hi Stephen, my precious wife passed away 19 weeks ago Friday. We had about 17 years together but we were each other's everything. I have not utilised this site a lot but I'm finding that it is helpful for me to read other people's stories for hope because sometimes the gut-wrenching pain seems like too much to take. There is support and I keep reading that it does get better. I'm living one moment at a time and keep telling myself to fake it until I make it.

Hi Stephen. I lost my wonderful wife of 24 years about a year ago. I found this site and it very comforting to talk to others like us. I still cry. I still hold the rings in my hand and talk to her and God. I am new to this site too but the responses are so real and comforting.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. This week, our grown children have been with me going through Dana’s things. It’s been a whirlwind of joyful memories and real anguish. I finally broke down today and cried in front of them for what I think was the first time — certainly the most intense. We all needed it. Sadly, I have to take them to the airport early in the morning, but it was so good to have them here. I’m sure tomorrow will bring more tears and much needed sleep, but I’m buoyed to keep moving onward to the new normal... whatever it might be.
