Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I have taken it head on from the first day. I feel I have to grab this and survive it. I have been here everyday, and go to a local support group.
I am alone, no friends, and a family that could care less. You can do this. Our husbands and wives want us to survive and honor their memory, we are here for you and have your back.
Peace to you

If you don't have a pet get one, they are a big help. Something to hug and talk to, and even yell at. My dog makes me laugh so much I don't know how I would go on without him.
Hugs,
JoAnn
I agree about getting a pet. I have two dogs I got at different pounds and they give me unconditional love. The last one is a pit bull cross and is so appreciative that I got her, she never leaves my side and my son needed her I think too, he has really taken to her. The other is a chocolate lab that someone dumped over at the lake and she worries about me all the time too. I live on a farm so they go for long walks with me and I talk to them. If it wasn't for them, the loneliness would be unbearable.
That first year I pulled the car to the side of the road several times after seeing a couple riding happily together. I couldn't see to drive with the tears flowing.
I do understand your pain. It's watching someone else enjoy what we so desparately miss. I am sorry for your suffering and send you a gentle hug. Sharon
With all off the nevers in your life, take a minute and think about them differently - Never been in love like this, Never made me feel so wanted more, Never been happier, Never wanted to share my life until you. Never ..... God bless you and keep you G-
Fast forward 3-1/2 years later--
I miss him and wish he were here. Still cry, but not as often and in the intensity I once did. It is now triggers and the holidays that brings the hollow feeling back.
My suggestion for you is counseling. Have mentioned that often on this site, but it is one of the best things I did for myself.
