My husband passed away July 27,2013. I inherited the house and the yard, which was his passion. I only used the yard to go to my car and back to the house. I wasn't interested in anything gardening. After my husband left me, I wanted to make his yard something he would be proud of. So I went on the internet, researched and became a container gardener. I spent a lot of money because I bought retail. This year I went to the thrift store for baskets,pots and found a canvas storage bag in my basement. I also drilled holes in a pair of my husband's old work boots, planted flowers in them and placed them in the yard. It has become so therapeutic and I have become passionate about watching what I have planted grow. I planted more vegetables and I am so excited. I know he is laughing at me as I walk the aisles at Home Depot, Menards and Lowe's. We were together 36 years, married 29 and in this home for 21 years. I finally get it!
