I stayed home from work today because I felt so rotten. Just a cold - but my man used to baby me like I was a kid. Okay, I admit it, I liked it. I had a sick bell that I could ring (he gave it to me) and he would come running - with juice, Tylenol, Kleenex and then tuck me in like a bug in a rug. I miss him. Trying to put my big girl panties on and suck it up but. it. hurts. 10 weeks have passed, seems like an eternity and yesterday at the same time.

Sis, ring the bell anyway, just to relieve some stress. I had a bell for him also, but it didn't work well in this case. I almost donated the bell the other day. Brings back sad memories. Your BGPs may not help in this situation. I don't have the answers other than to trust in God to take care of you.

I know what you mean about an eternity but yesterday at the same time. It's been 8 weeks for me, and I still miss him like crazy. I agree with shewearsblack17, ring that bell to relieve stress!! I certainly would!

It's been five months since my husband of twenty years passed away. He took care of me too when I was sick or just sad. I like to think he's hovering over me right now, telling me it's alright. I'm just so empty and lost without him.

It is an eternity and only yesterday when you confront those little things that you so miss. Hold on to that bell and your memories of all those times he took care of you. Know that you were cherished and loved and that if there was a choice he would be with you. I think those are the hardest times when you remember all those little things your spouse would do for you and now you have to do it all on your own. Sending hugs.

Yes hold on to the bell...time does help heal... there is so much that you will want to hold onto... i journal my thoughts and memories... I never want to forget.. it helps me feel good about being where i am in life

I have mentioned this before, but I keep "memory totes" in my garage. I was keeping journals on Google+, but now there's no more hope, and I don't see any merit in dwelling on the negative. Maybe later I will be able to reflect back and even see and listen to him (Dennis) on YouTube. It is going to take time; I am just now able to listen to recordings of Sam - after 7 years. I sort of imagine how a soldier feels who survived Vietnam or some other war; it's too graphic. Sam was an MP at the US Embassy in Saigon. It changed him in so many ways. I am changed in many ways now. But I do believe God has another plan for me; it just hasn't been revealed. The sermon tonight was about trusting, even when He says, "Not yet."
