Finally after 18 months I've had my wedding rings removed. They had to be cut off as they hadn't left my finger in 34 years.The jeweller put them in a little plastic bag for me to take home. Just another part of my former life that is now gone. Maybe some time soon I will be able to start getting rid of Mikes belongings but I know that is going to kill me. I'm going to take my time with that and have a real pity party all by myself.

I tried going through Shane's things yesterday... it is so very hard. I didn't get rid of anything, just packed and secured some stuff in a tote and moved it to the basement. Didn't even really make a dent.
Shane and I had gotten tattoo rings last summer, so mine is there for good... (his wedding ring broke, and it was dangerous for him to wear rings at work, and mine had gotten stolen when I had all my jewelry off when I was sick)

Gail, I too would have to have my rings removed, but at this point am not planning on doing so. As for going through my husband's things, I have no intention of doing that til I am further in this journey. And maybe not even then. Who knows. I did get rid of most of the medical equipment but have a few things left. I guess I just want to take my time when I am less foggy if that day ever comes. Hugs to you, Michele
