My husband passed away July 27, 2013 after diagnosis in January that he had Lung Cancer. My Doctor suggested a X-ray on Monday, called and said he wanted to see me and said I should have a CT scan right away. I checked the symptoms and I have been experiencing these and had expressed to my previous Doctor who "pooh, pooh" it. I left Him and the hospital and am with a different one. What are the odds of me getting Lung Cancer? I have never smoked (my husband smoked 1 1/2 packs a day), the amount of alcohol I consumed during my 74 years would amount to 1/4 of a bottle, (my husband was an alcoholic and quit in 1988, same for the cigarettes.) Whatever the results, I ask for your prayers, not for dying, but for my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. How can I tell them, especially my daughters who have been so protective of me since their Dad left. My sons live on opposite ends of the country, so it has been my daughters and me. They call me at least 3 times a day, take me to church and so many other things. Please agree with me in prayer.

Please remember, doctors do double takes of things because they want to be sure of what they're seeing. Stay off the internet my dear. You'll have yourself convinced. I have a friend who is a doctor, she said the thing that makes her job difficult is patients who try and diagnose themselves with the internet. Don't do that to yourself.

My husband passed April 17,2014 and I was suppose to go again for recheck on April 21st postponed.
I did go the end of May and I got a call from my Dr called a week later and said there was a slight change and I would need another Pet Scan, depending maybe a biopsy. I will admit I was scared at first ,then more worried about what will happen to my son who is handicapped and how will my other children and grandchildren handle this?? my mind started thinking "Is this why Bob passed so I could deal with this??" "what will happen?" self diagnosis ?? so I called my 5 daughters, daughter in law and sisters and cried. They all said we stand in agreement with you it is just being cautious..
I sent out prayer request of agreement to family, church and friends. 3 weeks later had the Pet Scan and just got a call GOOD NEWS!!! no biopsy and go back in 1 year.
