My husband of 50 years Dennis, died exactly 23 months today June 14th, 2015 a Sunday..in his sleep of a heart attack..and I found him..He hadn't been sick and we were planning a vacation with our kids the following Friday..
We had, had a wonderful day the Saturday before passed..We had done our yard, I cut his hair and we sat on our deck having a drink..He started talking about how much he loved me and our Daughters and our beautiful Grand Kids, even the neighbors..He said he had a wonderful life and was grateful for everything..I said are you ok he said I'm fine, and laughed..He had a great sense humor and a beautiful smile, was kind and generous...Mind you we weren't perfect, but we were perfect for each other..;)..
All I can tell you is you have to go straight through grieve, there are no short-cuts..Take care of you now..
See your doctor, something I wish I done sooner..It took me five months into this grief journey, and it took my daughters making be a doctors appointment to go..She gave me something for anxiety which for me was the worst..I had never taken anything stronger than an Advil..I now take nothing..I'm learning to come to terms with the fact Dennis is gone, once you do that it makes it some what easier..I still have my sad days, and even get mad at him for leaving me..but they pass quickly..
It's just the missing Dennis..I'm grateful for all the years we had together, and I'm glad he got to see our daughters and grand kids grow into the wonderful human beings they've become..
Come here often there are many wonderful people willing to share their journey through grieve with you and hopefully some of us a little farther along can help you..We all been where you are right now and know and feel your pain of the early stages of grieve..
One other thing don't be afraid to ask for help from family and friends..Sometimes people don't know how to respond to loss let them know if you need help..
Cry and clear out the pain in your heart, if you don't this grieve will tear you apart..
I'm sorry for the loss of your Love... Peace and prayers.....Gail..
