Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

Love and Hugs,
Martha
Nobody can see the world with your eyes, or feel with your heart. No matter how much some people brag to the contrary, nobody knows you better than you know yourself, and nobody can live your life better than you can.
Your grief, just like your past, is one-of-a-kind, and belongs to you...and nobody else.
Most people out of the kindness of their heart will be there for you and try to comfort you. But "just move on" is not an offer of comfort to you, but to themselves... because THEY are uncomfortable with YOUR situation, and "just move on" allows them to think that they have shown you strength when they haven't.
You are the one who is grieving, and it is not your job to comfort them.
So when someone tells you "just move on", don't feel apologetic when you tell them to "take a long walk off a short pier."
You don't owe anybody any explanations for your grief.
